What’s your personal story so far?
Back when I was at Uni, I focused more on volunteering, so I started searching for a job opportunity after I got my degree. I found FintechOS and got hired right after my graduation, three years ago; and I literally mean right after that day.
First, I was working in the “Demo Factory team”, which was actually only me, but more people soon started getting involved. I was then promoted to Team Lead and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had.
After a year or so, the Banking Accelerators team was founded and I got the chance to be the Technical Owner of that team and that’s where you can find me now.
In five words, what kind of person would you say you are?
Creative, dedicated, organized, funny, special.
What’s something about you that would surprise your colleagues?
I think many of them know already, but I’m a part-time actor in an amateur theater company I’m co-ordinating.
I don’t know exactly how I ended up loving theater and performing arts, but they are my escape from daily life. Some years ago, I got certified in costumes and stage design, so in my free time, when I’m not rehearsing for some play, I try to combine new media technologies with performing arts.
You can find below some pictures from my latest show called “A butterfly overturns a piece of domino.exe” by Daria Ancuța. I played one of the characters in the play, but also designed the costumes and did the stage design.
Could you name a passion of yours that’s impacted your life?
Theater really changed me, since it helped me to better communicate with others, to pay attention to body language, have better emotions management, and even gave me some cool tips and tricks to control my voice.
If you were to do something completely different, what would it be?
I usually have no regrets, because when I ask myself “how it would be to…”, I really take that action.
If I had to do something different, it would be to get a degree in journalism, because I’ve always wanted to work on a radio station.
During the pandemic, we were forced to cancel all our rehearsals and shows due to quarantine rules, so I’ve got the chance to be part of an editorial of cultural journalism, where I wrote about, obviously, theater shows and interviewed actors.
All those articles are in Romanian, but you can find them here.
What’s the ambition at FintechOS?
To always be the best version of ourselves; always up to date with the newest trends.
How would you like your colleagues to see you?
Exactly how I am: passionate, dedicated, and a little bit crazy. I’m always ready for a new challenge that turns my enthusiasm to the highest level.
What do you want FintechOS, and the people in it, to stand for?
Our five values really represent us:
- Be human
- Be brave
- Be different
- Be better
- Passionate teamwork
We apply these to all our daily tasks and that proves we’re the coolest guys.
Do you have a favorite type of music?
I’ve got a very diverse playlist on Spotify, from the old interbelic music to the latest hits. I’m a big fan of Queen and Freddie Mercury, ABBA, and Maria Tănase.
Do you have a favorite book or author?
I think I have read almost all the books of Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, but I’m also a fan of Dan Brown.
What are your expectations for the future?
I want to be surprised by my path here at FintechOS, because every time I wonder what would be next, a new opportunity opens a whole new experience for me.
Of course, I would expect you all to come and see me at one of my theater shows!
